Google has announced that is is rebranding the Android Market and related services as Google Play. The impact this has on Appiku sites is minimal. Verbiage and app store links will be updated going forward and rolled out over the next few days. If you have any questions about the change as it relates to [...]
News, information, and general tid bits from Appiku. Keep informed.
Good luck to all those competing in the Techority 48 Challenge. If you haven’t signed up yet, and are a Corona SDK user, you should consider it. A couple of cool prizes are being given away, and we’re sponsoring the challenge with a pair of iTunes Giftcards.
Appiku.com is now live. It’s been quite an adventure building the service, and it’s not done yet. An extensive roadmap over the next year for version 2 will be available for review and viewing within the next week or so. Appiku wouldn’t be possible without the help of Orman Clark who’s awesome design work saved Appiku from having [...]
Appiku is launch ready! It’s been a long couple months with lots of crazy hours, a few bumps, and plenty of surprises. Getting to the eve of launch is so exciting, but I need a break! I’m taking the next week~ish off from the project to recoop so I’ll be at my best come launch. [...]
Appiku will be opening it’s doors on February 13! If you are on the Appiku mailing list you’ll receive a special email detailing our launch. If not, that’s ok too. Super excited to see this labor of love go live. A few more things to wrap up, and then a launch. It’s been fun, but [...]
Hooray! We’ve hit Feature Freeze for the beta! Appiku will be opening the beta up next week, about two weeks later than hoped but still fairly quickly, and it’s coming right up. From here there are a few things left to do before the beta: there is a small list of bugs that need squashing, [...]
The last two app site templates have been completed. They are really great, and I couldn’t be happier with them, and I can’t thank Shafiq Sanchy and Ali Xue enough. I’ve only a few more items to finish up before feature freeze. I’ve decided to change from a single app website per user to the ability [...]
The first two of the four app website themes are done, and look really great. I’ve integrated them into the template system, and tested them. Quite nice. Still no word from the designer supposed to be working on the Appiku main site, so at this point I’m cutting (rather large) losses. I added styling to [...]
We’re well into January now, and Appiku is due to launch this month. Sadly, the main site design is no where near done. Just how far from being done is it? Well, as far as I can tell, it’s not even been started – so, a long way. I haven’t heard anything from the designer [...]
I’ve settled on Rackspace for the hosting of the Appiku service. They’ve preformed well in the past, their cloud servers are competitively priced, and they have solid support. Upgrades and provisioning are fairly quick, and load balancers are readily available. Servers will be running Ubuntu 10.10 LTS with Lighttpd rather than the more common Apache. Performance on Lighttpd [...]
